For a limited time, we will offer the beginning longarm quilting class, as a two for one, special. You and a spouse, or you and a partner, or you and a friend, can take the class together. You will share the machine, you will share the manual. Both will learn and become certified to rent the longarm machines.

We offer the Beginning Longarm Quilting classes,
4 days a week. Wednesday - Saturday
8 hour class, 9 - 5
$125 - you provide all of the fabric and batting.
A class kit is available for $30.00. It contains 4 yards of 120 inch muslin and 4 yards of batting.
This is a very intense training class. You will be learning and quilting on the machine all day. Wear comfortable
clothes and shoes.
One Student per stitch regulated longarm quilting machine.
9:00am - 5:00 pm
You work on your own machine, at your own pace.
Beginner Class, with comprehensive Training workbook included.
Your Class fees and rental fees, can and will be applied to the purchase of your
Nolting longarm quilting machine, ask for details.
* You will learn how to thread the machine, and check tension.
* You will learn how to use the bobbin winder.
* You will learn how to insert the bobbin and test the tension.
* You will learn about the basic care and maintenance of the longarm machines
* You will learn how to load the backing.
* You will learn how to load the batting.
* You will learn how to load the quilt top.
* You will learn how to use the channel locks, to ensure a perfectly square quilt top.
* You will learn how to accurately advance the quilt top.
* You will learn how to set up a panto, quilt it, and advance it to the next row, accurately.
* You will learn how to "float" a quilt top, when and when not to do this.
* You will learn and practice 12+ overall, edge to edge, and border quilting designs.
* You will learn about threads, tension and how to trouble shoot thread tension and thread breakage.
* You will learn how to use the stitch regulated and the nonstitch regulated part of the machine, and when you
should use each.
In the beginner class, you will:
* Quilt one sample top using a panto.
* Quilt one sample top, using freehand overall, edge to edge, and border designs.
* Depending your your speed and progress, you may get a 3rd project completed.
After your beginner class, you will be certified and be ready to rent our
stitch regulated longarm machines.
For those quilters, that just bought a new shortarm, midarm or longarm
machine, any brand. We can teach you how to use it.
Carrie has quilted on several different longarm machines, and can teach you how to use your machine. You will
be very comfortable with your machine and your quilting after your class.
What to bring:
Camera for taking pictures
Note pad and pen for taking notes.
Scissors, preferably, small scissors on a ribbon or a carribinner, to wear. We have them for sale. You will need
scissors all day to cut threads.
You should bring 3 or 4 practice tops with you. Tops can/should be unpieced tops/fabric.
I caution you, to not bring a pieced top, to practice and learn on.

Backing - 44 x72, Cotton fabric
Batting - 44 x 72,
100's of threads will be available for you to use.
Cotton fabric is available for you to purchase, for your class.
Cotton and poly down batting is available for you to purchase.

What not to bring:
Please don't bring children or friends or spectators to class.
Please don't bring pets. (Yes, one quilter asked, if she could bring her new puppy,
because she had no place to leave it).
For a limited time, we offer a buy one, get one free, training class. You can take your training class and bring a
friend, to also be certified, at the same price.
