crosshatching and clamshells as a guide I can freemotion many unique background fillers. This is a

technique that sparks your creativity and you will come up with many of your own.

Quilt To Fill (2 hr. demo): Confident Beginner
This class is designed to help anyone who has been hesitant to do freehand quilting.
Because the “Quilt to Fill” method gives you some marked boundaries to stay within, it is
an excellent method for quilters who have been reluctant to move into doing feehand

as you become a more advanced quilter.

incredible textural effects that can be added to your quilts. Because these fillers are so
time consuming, they definitely would be something reserved just for your own personal
quilts to make them extra special.

Innovative Wholecloth Design (4 hr. hands-on Design): Everyone
In this class, I will show you the process and methods I use to design and mark a totally
original Wholecloth Quilt. We will discuss how different techniques, thread colors, and

using fused fabrics and paints under sheer layers, as well as painting a whole cloth. We
will be using no stencils, so each student will leave class with a marked, totally original
and YOU-nique Innovative Wholecloth, ready for quilting. A lot of people ask me how I
come up with the ideas I have used in my whole cloth quilts, and I think you will be
surprised by how simple it really is …. And NO, you do NOT have to be an artist.

Adding Shiva Paintsticks to Your Finished Quilts (2 hr painting): Everyone
In this class, Jodi will demonstrate how simple it is to use Shiva Paintstiks to add color to

One start, one stop borders !!
In this class you will pencil quilt along with me as I share my method for
fitting and marking traditional curling feathers in borders. These feathers give the quilt a very
traditional look. Some call them Amish Feathers. We will cover doing a continuous (one start and
stop) feather border, a single sided feather border and using feathers in the sashing. I will show you
where to start and explain the reasoning behind it. Why you need to mark the spine... When to turn the
quilt for the side borders and why I use this method for a curled feathered border. Time permitting, I
will also throw in a few blocks, just to keep you hopping ! You will also see how easy it is to quilt a
quilt with nothing but feathers. Your customers will love them, and you'll be surprised how easy they
are to do. One lucky student will take home the class sampler! Handouts will be provided
